Open On Demand (OOD) desktop setup for IGV

These scripts install IGV into an individual's account (using Anaconda), and create a icon on the desktop to launch it.

Two versions of IGV are supported:

  • 2.4 This comes from the Anaconda "bioconda" channel
  • 2.5 This uses both the Anaconda "bioconda" and "conda-forge" channels.

To run installation (see https://docs.uabgrid.uab.edu/wiki/OOD_IGV for screen shots)

  • launch OOD desktop: https://rc.uab.edu
  • start a "terminal emulator" (click on icon center bottom)
  • enter either (or both)
    • /share/apps/ngs-ccts/ood-igv/2.4.sh
    • /share/apps/ngs-ccts/ood-igv/2.5.sh
  • IGV will install, create a desktop icon, and then launch
  • in the future, you can just launch with the desktop icon.
