Verify and document WCAG 2.1 AA conformance of websites

The ADA 2024-03-08 Web Rule requires all state and local governments bring websites, webapps, and mobile apps into conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA or higher. In our case, this must be completed by April 24, 2026 (approximately 10 weeks). We are responsible for conformance of anything we serve or use, regardless of who created it.

Conformance for third-party sites can be demonstrated with a VPAT provided by the third party: https://www.itic.org/policy/accessibility/vpat

RC resources which must be conformant:

  • Account Creation App custom pages account-app#17
  • Data Science Journal Club course content
    • In progress. UAB Canvas has access to an accessibility checking tool called Panorama.
